Harry Dixon left Sunday for Roches
ter, Minn., to visit his wife and daugh
ter. His daughter, Miss Harriet, Is
confined In the Mayo Brothers' hospi
tal at that place where she recently
underwent an operation.

Yost and two sons returned the latter
part of last week from Saratoga, Wyo.,
-where they spent ton days fishing.
Their success was somewhat embar
rassed by rainy weather, but they suc
ceeded In catching more trout than
they could eat.

for the collection of money alleged to

the yea?.' Tlio pontiffs, through their
attorney, J. C. Hollman, allege that
they have rented a number of films to
the defendant and that he has paid on
ly a small portion of tho money duo
them. They allege that there Is still
due them the sum of $229.13 and they
ask for judgment for that amount with
interest from the date of filing the suit
and also costs of tho action.
Secretary jj. E. Sebastian wishes to
announce for the benefit of those who
are not yet enlightened that the Lin
coln County Agricultural society and
the Fair association are one and the
samo thing. Many whom ho has solic
ited for membership to tho agricultur
al society wero undor tho linprcsion
that it was useless, while as a matter
of fact they wanted to join the fair as
sociation. A membership paid to tho
agricultural society will be used for
the furthering oft he county fair.

A carload of Oklahoma watormelons
were received yesterday consigned to
T. M.'Cohngen, who will sell them to
local morchants. This shipment will
supply tho market until tho home
grown melons begin to come in.
A collision at the ice houses early
yesterday morning resulted In badly
wrecking a caboose and several cars.
Supposing that a train that had been
standing on one of tho tracks had
pulled out, another backed In on the
samo track.
The Royal Girls of the Methodist
church will have charge of tho re
freshments at the Kandy Kitchen next
Thursday afternoon and evening, and
respectfully, spllclt the patronage of

Tho Independents captured the third
in tho series of games with the Kansao
City Red Sox by the score of 4 to 1.

In the district court Saturday Judge
Grimes issued an order restraining the
coimty clerk from placing on tho pri
mary election ballots the names of
candidates for commissioner from tho
Third district. This result was fore

as a result D. B. White, the present
commissioner from that district will
hold office until January, 1917.
Mrs. A. P. Carlson has had as her

Much Interest is belnc disnlaved in

strong teams.
Wednesday afternoon Ogalalla will

Each afternoon the first game will

coln county agricultural society, an

now ready for distribution and that ho

flco for those who wish them. A nice
lot of premiums Is being offered this
year to tho residents of Lincoln coun
ty and It Is hoped that they will all
take advantago of this and that tho ex
hibits will bo better this year than ov
er bofore.
Mr. Sebastian also stated that ho has
a large amount of advertising ready
and he desires that tho district mana
gers In tho different parts of tho coun
ty apply at tho olllco and got tho ad
vertising matter and tho premium
lists to distribute.
