N. Durbin and Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Souder returned Wednesday from Lincoln where they attended the republican state convention. They report a well attended convention and a fine time, and state that much was accomplished this year. They made the trip by auto mobilo and report that many of the crops along the route are suffering considerably from want of rain. The behavior of the republicans in the state convention shows that the party is fast putting itself In position to come back into ppwer with credit to itself and to the profit of the re public. Tho charges were preferred aghlnst him by Miss Gladys RIdcnour, a sixteen-year-old girl of tho Wnllnco vicinity. Aftor hearing the testimony of the girl tho court found In her favor and bound Fear over on bonds of $2,000 which he furnished. Miss RIdenour alleges that Fear Is the father of her unborn child. Sho lives with her parents in the Wnllnco vicinity and claims that sho stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Fear last winter while she attended school. Sho al leges that during Inst December Fear was guilty of tho crime alleged, while she was stopping at his home. Fear Is n prominent business man of Wallace ami a number of his friends accompanied him hear to testify In his favor. A number of witnesses were called on tho enso to testify as to the character of Mr. Fear and as soon as the bond was fixed they furnished It for Fear's appearance at the jury term of tho district court. YEOMEN WILL HOLD THEIR SECOND ANNUAL PICNIC At the meeting of the local home stead of American Yeomen Tuesday evening plans were begun for their second annual picnic. No deflnlto ar rangements have been made as yet, but they promise something good for the people of North Platte. .Thoy held a picnic last year which was n suc cess from every standpoint of having a good time and they hope to glvo a more elaborate affair this year. About fitteen members of the old class were present and a pleasant evening was enjoyed.
