A vory prulty wedding was solemn
ized Sunday oventng at the Chrintian
church when Dr. Uortha Mttngon of
this city wan united in marriage to
Clinton II. Thomson of Shenandoah,
Iowa. Tho wedding was an elaborate
affair and was held Immediately fol
lowing the church sorvlcos. II. G.
Knowlcs performed tho ceremony af
ter which a reception was held in tho
basement of tho church.
The bridal party entered tho church
from the sido door shortly after nlno
o'clock to the strains of Lohengrin's
wedding march played by Mrs. Ora
DeFord. Mr. Knowlcs led tho party
and ho was followed by Misses Mnr
gnrct VnnClcavo and Corrino Hlgh
bcrgor, tho llowor girls. Following
them came littlo Tracy DoFord bear
ing tho ring In a large roso and after
them came Mr. John I). Thomson and
Mrs. Kva Roddick, befit man and mat
ron of honor. Tho brido and groom
entered last. After they had taken
their places Mrs. Dimmick sang "0,
Promise Me," and tho ceremony wns
then porformod. Tho full ring cere
mony was used.
The brido wore cropo meteor trim
med .with shadow laco. Sho wore a
pearl necklace, tho gift of tho groom,
und hor gown was also trimmed with
pearls. Sho wore a j!1 caught with
a boUciuot of wild llo.wors and carried
u bouquet of carnatons.
Tho brido is a daughter of Mr. and
Mr. Charles Mangon of this city. Sho
camo hero loss than a year ago from
Cotnor university whero oho gradu
ated in medicino and opened up a
practice. Sho is an admlrablo young
lndy and has a host of friends who
will Join in wishing hor happiness.
Tho groom has also recently gradu
ated from Cotnor and is a student
pastor, They will make their homo
hero until tho first part of Septcmbor
when hoy will lcavo for Indianapolis,
whortf they will spond a year study
ing in a school of missions. After
that they oxpoct to tako somo for
iegn field and go as medical misslon

Edward C. Smith was born Juno
8, 18G2, at nichvlllo, St,. Lawrence
Co., Now York,. Died July S, 1914,
at North Platto, Nebraska, at tho
ago of 52 yours and 1 month. He
came to Illinois when but a small
boy with lils parents and lived thoro
until ho -was 10 years of ago when
thoy moved to Y'ork Co., Nebraska,
whoro ho grow to manhood.
Thon in tho yoar of 1880 ho went to
Colorado as many a young mnn did
to get a Btart in life. In tho year of
1892, ho was married to Clara L.
Upson a Sodgowlck, Colo., whoro thoy
resided for .a numbor of years They

thoy resided until tho tlmo of his
doath. Ho leaves a loving wlfo, five
