She expects to spend the greater part of the sum mer hero. Edgar Schiller, Frank Tracy andP. M. Sorenson left last evening for Hastings on a business trip. Re ports are to the effect that, Messrs. Schiller and Tracy will drive back in a Saxon car which Mr. Tracy will purchase. County Attorney Geo. N. Glbbs left last ovenlng for Stapleton and Gundy where he will spend a few days prosecuting three criminal cases which are resultnnt from celebrating tho Fourth of July. Tho cases arc entitled the stute of Nebraska vs. Koenig, two cases, and the state vs. Abbott. The county commissioners left yes terday aftornoon for tho Hershey vi cinity whoro they will Inspect a ditch which is being excavated by Wool back & Co. A case was filed in the county court last week against the company for destroying a bridge and U is now lfcing held by residents of that vicinity that they are damaging the public highway by running water into it; ah-o that the water Is running on land belonging to n man other than tno one upon whoso property tho ditch Is being placed. Tho commis sioners will inspect the conditions and it may bo necessary to take, ac tion against the man enjoining him from digging the ditch. Ernest Coy charged with stealing a suit ol clothes of Hurry Reese, was tried yesterday before Justice Sulli van, wa3 found guilty, and given sen tence of fifteen days in tho county Jail. Sentence was suspended on con dition that he get to work at his trado of sewing machine repairer and get the money to pay tho costs of the suit and a fine. The suit of clothes was loaned tho man by Mr. Reese whllo his was being repaired. He agreed to return It nt live o'clock In tho even ing, but In tho menntliuo ho boarded a train and left for Gothenburg, where he was npprehended In the evening. Postmaster Din Is' Brother Dies Postmaster Davis was calod to DenverSunday by a telegram an nouncing the death of a brother. This brother located just beyond tho out skirts of Denver in the early days and each year increased his acres un til he accumulated a vast tract of land for which ho was offered seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars last year. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mehlmau have been spending tho past fow days nt points in Colorado, and will spend thin week in Denver taking In the sights connected with tho Elks' grand lodge. W. V.
