This week and next week nro busy weeks in the high school and especially for tho senior class Besides tho regu lar examinations there are many othor functions that demand the time of the students. Friday evening of this week the senior class play will bo given at the Keith theatre. Saturday evening the Junior-Senior reception will be held in tho Masonic ha)) and Sunday morning the baccalaureate services will be held at the Baptist church. The class nla;,, entitled "A Scrap of Papor" is a comedy that will bo well worth the time of seeing. The students have been doing hard work getting' in readiness for this, under the instruc tion of Miss Welch, and are well pre pared. Tho Junior-Senior will bo an elaborate affair. Sunday morning tho class will attend the Baptist church en masse for the class sermon which will be preached by Rev. J. L. Barton. Monday of next week the high school oadets will leave for Gothenburg for their annual encampment. Principal G. P. McGrew will accompany them. Just how many will go is not yet known, but about thirty-five are ex pecting to go. During their stay they will play a return ball game with the .Cqzad team .on the Gothenburg ground?. The commencement exercises will bo held Friday evening of next week. A general program will be given and there will be no speaker. The program will be announced later. Injunction Filed in Land Case. A case entitled R."L. Benton and com pany vs Fred Pierson, John Baughman, William S. Coker; Frank Coker and Simon Brogan was filed Saturday in the United States district court. The case is an injunction to prevent the defend ands from ejecting the plaintiffs in thier suit that is now pending in the county court. This case involves about 21,3ft! acres of land in the Sutherland vicinity rent ing at 2,500 per year. It was leased to the plaintiffs in this case last year and the defendants assert that the lease was for-only one year. The plaintiffs are still holding possession of it although written notice was served on May 2nd to vacate. This injunction suit is to enjoin the defendants from ejecting them. It is set for hearing before Judge Munger at Omaha on May 25th. The plaintiffs fifed bonds of 2,000 to cover costs of tha case in case they should be in the wrong. Will Exhibit School Work. Exhibits of the school work will be given Thursday afternoon of this week in all the ward schools. The schools wlll'be open to the'ptiblic'f or inspection' and everybody is invited to visit the schools and inspect the work of the pupils for the past year. Much prep aration has been made for this exhibi tion and it will be wprth the time of all to make a visit to the schools for the p'trpose of seeing the work. All work that can bo done on paper will be shown and the best of these exhibits will be sent to tho county fair next fall. The best of that will prob ably be send to the stnte fair. The high school boys played the best game they have ptoyed this season and their defeat was due to succession ot conflict ing events. Cross and Claubaugh were batteries for the local men and Cross pitched a fine game. Several times he was "in a holo" but got out of it in a commendable manner. The Giants got eight hits off of him and the boys get sixteen off McCain, the same pitcher that fanned twenty-two Brule men a fewdaysago. McCain and McConnell were batteries for Hershey.
