High School Girl I Austin Lo Organize Dies of Pneumonia! T- i. a..,:ii.t xjitiiii xa.1 unci y. Miss Isla B. Rowley, one of the members of the North Platte high school, died ycstcrdny morning at 8 o'clock at the homo of her grand mother, Mrs. J. J. Meyers on East Sixth street. Death was due to pneu monia and the young lady had been ill only since last Wednesday and her de miso was a shock to her relatives and many friends. Miss llowlsy was horn March 29th, 1897 in this county. She is tho-Mder of the two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Rowley residing about six miles south of the city. She has been at tending Bchool in this city for the past four years' and has made l'er home with hor grandmother. Sho wus a member of tne Junior class in high school and was quite a favorite, both with hor teachers and clas3 mates. Her parents have been residents of this counU for about forty years and are well known to many. Sho leaves to mourn her death her father and mother, threo brothors and one sister, all of whom live in the country, and n host of friends both in tho country and in this city. Tho funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from tho Methodist church, Rev. B. A. Cram officiating. Inter ment will bo made in tho North Platte cemetery. Notice to Moose. Joe McGraw, who is a conductor run ning out of Holper, Utah, arrived yes terday for a visit with relatives Mrs. McMullon expects to return this week to her home Omaha after u visit of a few weeks with relatives. Miss Catherine Foster expects to leavo this week for Omaha to spend a few weeks visiting relatives. George A. Austin, the uuscarred hero , of sevoral wor6, has decided to organ ize a company of light artillery for ser vice in Mexico should war be formally declared. In line with his customary generosity and well established degree of patriotism, Mr. Austin will equip the company at his own expense, and to avoid possible friction and at the same timo be certain to secure a brave, ex perienced and generous commanding officer, ho will appoint himself Captain, lie will probably select Bruno Artz as first lieutenant nnd Joe Fillion second lieutenant, the selection of these two being due to thoir long yenrs of cam paigning for the Apaches in Arizona and the Sioux in Montana. Applications for enlisting are coming in so rapidly that it is probable that the full comple ment of 220 men will have been reached by the end of the week. Perhaps tho most onerous task Cap tain Austin has to deal with is the selec tion of the "Daughter of the Company," tho purpose being to hnve n beautiful young lody accompany the company. There have been so many possible Joans of Arc who have applied, and all are so comely and bo brave, that it is caus ing him much perplexity.
