Spraguc Pleads Guilty. Joseph Spraguc, who appeared in tho county court last week on the chargo of fornication, appeared beforo Judge II. M. Grimes in chamber ses sion of district court Saturday nftei nDon and entered a plcn of guilty. Ho received sentence of $50 fine and three months in,tho county jail. The maxi mum sentence for this offence is six months in jail of $100 fino or both. Spraguo pleaded not guilty last week in tho county court, but evidence was s) strong against him that he was bound ove-to the district court. Tho Cise could not hnve been tried until December. The maximum sentence being six months in jail he changed his plea rather than lny in jail seven months. After his jnil sentence ia served out he will stand committed until the fine is paid.EBHZEH TheJ woman, Mrs. Myrtle Gowins, who was arrested with Sprngue was not prosecuted, tho case having been dismissed beforo the county court. 91 Jf IF Watch See Dixon's Ad. Alter several attempts to secure a satisfactory water for ice-making, Ha.wley & Lowe have been successful, tins strata having been round at a depth of about 145 feet. The water comes from the same strata found on the Moody place several blocks east, and is free of alkaline and has less solids than either the city Nvater or otherjwater that comes from a greater depth. During the winter Hawley & Lowe made a number of improvements to their plant, and it is now running very smoothly and turning out n su perfor quality of ice. They are now lif ting up three refrigerating rooms which will be liased by local parties, and this fall expect to.construct a 1000-ton ware house for ice storage.
