Methodist Brotherhood Talks City Playgrounds The proposition for public city play grounds received new impetus fuos day evening when tho men's brother hood of the Methodist ehurch took up the proposition and discussed it in open meeting. They also appointed a com mittee, consisting of Wilson Tout and I. A. Gilbert, to meet with the other brotherhoods of tho city and make definite plans. The plans as discussed related more to the boys' athletics and playgrounds to afford them athlotic training. .This committee that was appointed is to confer with the other mqn of tho city in regard to plans fnd a site for the building. As soon as anything can be done tho plans are to hire an exper ienced man to tnko charge of the physical training of the boya and give them systematic training. The idea has been discussed from various angles by the different organizations of the city and was first taken up by the women of the Twentieth Century club. Tho different brotherhood of the have taken up the matter, but heretofore nothing definite has been done. A largo attendance was proscnt at the brotherhood meeting, which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Gilbort. Tho men were all enthus iastic over the idea of tho playgrounds and boy athletics and a fine meeting was held. After tho discussion, tho men spent an hour in social converse and a general good tlm and at, a late hour nice refreshments wore served. Sprague Bound Over to District Court. Joseph Sprague, who was arrcBted last week upon complaint of Sheriff Salisbury on the charge of fornication, was brought before Judge Grant yes terday morning to answer the charge. He entered n plea of not guilty, but the court found sufficient evidence to bind him over to tho district court and fixed his bonds at $800. Ho was unable to furnish bonds and was remanded to jail to await trial. Spraguo was arrested with n woman who later gave her namo as Mrs. Myrtle Gowlns. Mrs. Gowins testified that thoy had lived togothor for over two years and that they had never been married, but they had agreed to live together as man and wife. They began living together in Grcely, Colo , and later moved to Oshkosh whore they lived until about six weeks ago when thoy came to this city. Both testified that under tho laws of tho state of Colorado they wore legally man and wife. Another witness, Miss Lena Corner, was called and she testified that Spra gue had lived with her mother for nine years without ovorhavingbeen married anu that tncy had two cniiuren. one alleged that Spraguo then deserted her mother and then lived with her siBtor for several months. On tho witness stand Sprague tetified that ho had lived with the girl's sister but that ho did not marry lior on account of her being underage. Ho also testified to having lived with another woman, and stated that he had never been married. His case will come up for homing at the next term of district court. Fanning Implements.
