Miss Louise Welborn is spending the
holidays in Omnhn.
Mrs. Beans, of Cozad, is visiting in
tho city for a few days with her mother

Mrs. Roscoe Zlinmer, of Sidney, is

tho LcDoyt home.
Jimmy Davis, of Omnha, was visiting
friends in tho city Inst week. He was
formerly a rasident ot this city.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Font, of Omnhn,
are visiting in tho city nt tho homo of
the Jotter's mother, Mrs. Unker.
Frank Cokor, a liveryman and stock
buyer from Sutherland, was a businoas
visitor in the city Friday afternoon.
Mr. nnd Mrs. Homor McMichael, of
Wellfleet, were visiting relatives in
this city tho latter part of last week.
J. P. Larsen returned Friday even
ing from St. Paul, Neb., where he
spent Christmas visiting his parents.
Attornoy and Mrs. Albert Muldoon
returned from Rockwell, la., wrier J
they spent Christmas visiting Mrs.
Muldoon's relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Weingnnd. of
Omaha, formerly residents of this city,

Miss Hazel Rork, of Colorado
Springs, is visiting in tho city with her
parents, Mr. nnd Mrs. Frank L. Rork.

couple of weeks here.
Charles Dill. Jr., returned yesterday
to his homo in Chicago aftor visiting
over Christmas with his grandparents,
Mr. nnd Mrs. II. Yost. He formerly
lived hero with his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Thompson, of
Evanston, Wyo., aro visiting in the
city for n few days nt tho C, E. Cook
Jiome. They aro onroute home from
an extended visit at different points in
Indiana.
Ora, tho fiftoen-yenr-old son of Mr.
nnd Mrs. James Vil30n, rosiding six
miles northwest of tho city, is reported
very much bettor. Ho hns been suffer
ing for eoveral days with an attack of
typhoid fever. ' t
Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Miller, of Fre
mont, nro visiting in tho cfty with the
lattor'n parents Mr. nnd MrB. Richard
Cox. Dr. Millor formerly practiced
medicine in this city but had been gone
about two years.
A case of small pox is reportud in the
city. Roy Lubber, who is a traveling
snleaman out of this city, was token
down with tho disease last weok. He
contracted tho disease while nt Scotts
ljluft'. Ho has not a severe attack and
his condition Is not considered serious.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Ullrich re
turned to tho city last week from their
wedding trip through the eastern part
of tho state and Iowu. They will make
their homo here. Tho bride was for
merly Miss Ora Whlto a teacher in
tho North Platto schools.
Tho piano contest at tho Hub was
won by tho Lincoln school and from the
way the pubils worked it undoubtably
went to the right place. Some of tho
pupils wore at the store nearly all tho
time during thocontoit campaigning for
their Alma Mater, nnd thoy woro' all
very much pleased when thoy henrd
that thoy had tho high vote.
Manager Lonergan of tho Pnt
theatre gavo a free four reel Keystone
comedy show Christmas day for Mie
benefit of tho children in tho city. The
show was given in tho afternoon and a
large number of the kiddios came out
to tako advantage of it. Thoy all ox.

Fred Hill, n sixteen-year-old boy of
Horshoy, was brought to tho city Thurs
day and taken to tho P. & S. hospital to
have a bullot removed from his hand.
Hill shot himself in tho hand whilo
cleaning n 32-calibro revolver. The
bullot went into tho floshy part of the
right palm nnd struck a bono and lodged
there. An operation was porformed
Friday morning nnd the bullot removed.
While tho Injury will probably not ro
Bult seriously, it is n dangerous wound
and will givo him considerable pain.

been travo.ing for several months

in Canada in June. Ho travoled nil
over tho southern part of tho Dominion
from Winnipeg to Albortnandhas some
valuable information in regard to tho
country. Ho will remain in the city for
some time to "get acquainted with his
family" but later may docido to locate
in Canada. Whilo there ho went on a
thirty-day mooso hunt out in tho woods
and had n very exciting timo but not
much luck so fai as game was concerned.

party, which was glyen Friday evening
nt their home, was largely attended

in tho city, wore guests of tho club.

city Friday and will visit here during
the holiday vacation. She Is a toacher
in rural school near Denmark.
Word was received hero last week
announcing tho marriage of Scotty
Dye, a former North Platte baseball
player, to Miss Iva Hazelton of Bea
trice. Scotty foimerly played on the
Deatrico Mink Ieaguo team two years
ago and became acquainted with Miss
Hazolton during his stay in that city.
He is now employed in Clancy's bowling
aliey at Beatrice.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Shoup and daugh
ter, Miss Fern, of Sutherland, were
shopping visitors in the city Friday
afternoon. They have announced the
wedding of their daughter, Miss Glenna
Hazel, to Bernard S. Gummere, which
will occur on the evening of December
3l8t. One hundred and fifty invitations
are out for the wedding. ,,
