Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weir and
daughter Elizabeth left "Saturday
afternoon for Denver to spend a couple

Miss Louise Souder, of Moorefield,

Dr. and Mrs. 0. H. Cressler and
daughter returned yesterday morning
from-Kansas City, where they spent
two weeks.
v Mrs. Thomas Green and daughter
of Grand Island came Saturday aftor
noon to spend a few days with friends
while enroute west.
During tho storm in the eastern part
of this state last week, four hundred
feet of track was washed out at Miller
on the Callaway branch.
Corbin Jones spent Friday in Callo
way and whilo there pitched in a game
of ball for Stapleton against the Calla
way team. The latter won by a score
of 10 to 2.
Thomas Green, formerly of this city,
has sold his vaudeville theatre in Grand
Island and taken the agency for the
Cheyenne Frontier Days moving pic
tures. "
J. A. RannTe left Sunday for Port
land, Ore., where he will visit his sons
for several weeks. Mrs. "Rannie and
daughter preceded him to Portland a
'couple of week's ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Burton Brown, of Nor
folk, who were married here last -week
have returned from their honeymoon trip
in Colorado and are Spending the day
witlythe bride's parents Mr. and Mrs.
Charles McGuire.
Charles Dixon was host to a large
number of friends Saturday evening
whom he entertained at a dancing party
at his home on West Fifth street. The
rooms were decorated with large clus
ters of field flowers and tho programs
were daintily arranged. Delicious re
freshments were served. Out-of-town
guests wore Misses Ruth Fitzgerald
of Omaha and Fayl Wayne of Ala
bama. t
The remains of H. J. Brooks, a for
mer North Platte resident who died ,at
the homo of his son George Brooks in
McCook, Nebr., last week, wore in
terred in the North Platte cemetery at
six o'clock Sunday evening. Mr.
Brooks was a prominent carpenter hero
for thirty years but was obliged to
give up his work on account of ill
health and of lato resided with his son
in McCook. He leaves another son
Fred Brooks of Bignell to mourn him.

Dave Day has resigned his position
with Carson & Landgraf to take effect
next Saturday. He will leave next week
for South Dakota and tho northwest
with the view of looking up a location
to engage in some kind of business.
Mjss Ruth Davidson gave a birthday
party Friday t a numbor of her young
friends at the home of her sister Mrs.
Frank Laughlin. Tho young guests
were entertained for a couple of hours
at games and at five-thirty partook of a
nice lunch.

tailored suit and was attended by Miss
Genevieve Woods of Wallace, Ray Mar
ovish stood with the groom. The young
people left on the morning. train for
Denver to spend their honeymoon after
which they will reside on the groom's
ranch near Sutherland. The best wishes
of a number of friends jire extended.
North Platte scores another victory
