Providing for the construction of a
sewer lateral district, to be known as
Extension to Sewer Lateral District
M", to consist of Blocks Nos. 8, 9, 10,
11 and 12 of the Town Lot Company's
Addition to said city of North Platte,
Nebraska; said sewer lateral beginning
where the center line of tho alley in
Block 123 of the original town Inter
sects the present sewer lateral In "aid
block 'running thence in a westerly
direction on tho center line of the alley
in said Blocks 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, to
where the center line of said aTToy in
tersects with ,he west lino of said Block
12, then' to terminate; to be con
structed of ten inch sewer pipe, with
proper flush tanks, man holes and pro
per appliances; Providing for an esti
mate of tho cost thereof and for bids
and making contracts for said sower
laterals; also providing for lovying
against (he abutting lots, along the line
of said latoral sewer, a special assess
ment to pay the cost of constructing
the same.
Bo it ordained by tho mayor and city
council of North Platte, Nebraska:
Sec. 1. That a sewer lateral district,
to be known as Extension to Sewer
Lateral District "M" be formed from
Blocks 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the Town
Lot Company's Addition to the city of
North Platte, Nebraska.
Sec. 2. That a sewer lateral Bo con
structed of ten Inch sewer pipe, at a
proper depth and on a level required by
the present sewer system of said city,
beginning where tho center line of the
alley in Block 123 of the original town,
intersects the present sewer lateral in
said block, running thence in a west
ern ly direction on the center line of the
alley in said Blocks 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
to where the center line of said alloy
intersects tho west line of said mock '
12, together with the necessary man
holes, flush tanks and appliances, along
tho lino of said proposed lateral.
Eec. 3. That the engineer of said city
at once prepareand file with the clerk
thereof, an estimate of the total costs
of said proposed sewer lateral.
Sec. -I. That after said estimate is
mado and filed, as herein provided, the
clerk of said city shall proceed at once
to advertise in manner and form re
quired tyy law for bids for the construc
tion of 8aidseweriateral and appliances,
reserving to said city the right to re
ject any or all bids therefor.
Sec. 5. If an approved bid be made
for said work, that a contract thereof
be entered into by the mayor of said
city, attested by the clerk, with the
necessary provisions protecting the in
terests of said city, upon tho contractor
furnishing a bond in a sufficient amount
for tho fuithful performance of said
contract.
Sec. 6. To pav the costs of the con
struction of said sewer lateral, flush
tanks, man-holes and appliances, a
special assessment shall be levied, ac
cording to law, against the lots abbutt
ing on tho line of said lateral.
Sec. 7. This ordinance shall take ef
fect nnd be in forco from and after its
passage, approval and publication.
