longer before going to Portland to re
main indefinitely.

P. E. O. Wednesday afternoon of next

Wednesday morning by the illness of a
relative.

Mrs. P. J. Gilmnn, Mrs. F. W. Rinc
ker, Mrs. R. D. Birge and Rev. C. F.
Chapman are in Hastings attending the
annual convocation of the Episcopal
church, having left for that place Tues
day. Mrs. Thomas Golden who was
operated upon in Ds Moines recently
is recovering nicely and will come here
next week to spend several weeks
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi
Duke.
D. E. Morrill, the real estate man,
spent several days in Denver this week
working up a real estate deal. "Doings
in dirt'' are rather slow this spring.

Tho Club Novita were charmingly
entertained Tuesday afternoon by Mrs.
Ella Huxoll and Mrs. Andy Yost. Apple
blossoms wcro used in decorating tho
rooms. Tho placo cards and games
were very uniqo and the affair was
given as a farewell to Mrs. 0. E. Weil.
Prizes for contests wore won by Mes
dames Quinn, Lewis, Ogier and Weil.
Very enjoyable refreshments were
served. Mrs. T. D. Buchanan, of
Omaha, was an out of town guest.

25th, 211th nnd 27th, has bogun practice
wirk. Tho team hopes to get in shape
to tnnka a good showing.
