During her stay at the Fonda home the deceased received the kind treat ment of n daughter, nothing was left undone that would add to her comfort; everything that could possibly be done for her was cheerfully performed; but the hand of death could not be stayed. Miss Betts was n sweet and lovable young woman, cheerful despite her suf fering, and hopeful of recovery. Her brother was with her last week, and a few days ago a girl friend came from St. Louis to assist in making her last days on earth more cheerful.
