Among tho shipments from North Platto Wednesday was a solid carlopd of eggs consigned to the Littleton Creamery Co., of Denver. These eggs were bought of farmers by tho North Platte Produco Co., were strictly fresh and therefore commanded the top price. There were 420 cases in tho car. each case containing thirty dozen, or a total of 151,200 eggs. This is the first time in the history of North Platto that a solid car of eggs has been shipped, and it indicated to some extent tho busiri&i handled by the North Platto Produce Co. This com pany ships as high as two and three tons of drpssed poultry to DcnVer in a week. ' ' Mrs. Vernon, of Julesburg, who was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mc Graw, loft for homo a few days ago. Mrs. Nels Hammer went to Sidney Tuesday night to attend the funoral of a relative Irrigation Committee Makes Report, Your committee heretofore ap pointed for tho purpose of investiga ting the cost of the reconstruction of the Southside Irrigation & Land Com pany's canal, and the purchase price of the same from tho present owners, and the cost of obtaining one acre-foot from tha Pathfinder Resorvolr under contract with the United States govern ment, desire to report as follows, to wit: Tho reconstruction of the ditch, the construction of concrete headgate and dam, will bo tho sum of $100,000.00. The ditch and its fran chises, water appropriations, etc., can be purchased for tho sum of S6.000.00, and a perpetual water right from the Pathfinder Reservoir can be purchased from the United States government to tho extent of ono acre-foot per acre for 12,000 acres for tho sum of $60, 000.00, making tho total cost of the re construction of tho ditch, tho building of a headgate and dam, and the pur chase of a perpetual water right from said reservoir, tho sum of $166,000.00, which on a basis of 12,000 acres, would be tho sum of $13.84 por acre. If more acres can be placed in the district than 12,000 acres it will not add to tho cost of the construction, but will add at the rate of $5.00 per aero for' tho perpetual water right. However, tho more acres that are placed in tho district the less will bo tho cost por aero for tho reconstruction of the ditch and tho construction of the headgate and dam.
