Fred Behrans, of Denver, arrived the
first of this week to make alternations
in the electric fixtures in tho federal

final inspection of the government in

Tho romnins of tho infant son of Mr.
and Mrs. Castor, who died enrly in the

Wednesday. A short burial service
was read Tuesday ovening by Rov.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Jerry
Bowen was held from the residence
Wednesday afternoon. The services
wero conducted by Rev. Christie. A
largo number of friends from this city
and Wood River attended. The floral
offerings wore, very beautiful.

Walker were quietlyj-married by Rev.
R. Bi Favonght Wednesday at the
Baptist manse. Miss Myrtle Dow

Hite stood with the: groom. Mr. and
Mrs. Dowhower will make their homo

Charles J. McNamarn received word
from Omaha Tuesday afternoon that
his house had been struck by tho tor
nado and completely demolished. Ho
enrried fire insurance but no tornado in
surance so it is a complete loss to him.
The tenants inthe houso barely escaped,
with their lives.'
While oiling his engine at Sterling
Tuesday Georgo Trexlor had his eyes
burned. The oil struck a hot pin nnd
exploded striking him in the eyes. Tho
sight was not injured but tho acci
dent will cause Mr. Trexler to be con
fined to tho houso for a week or longer.
Mrs. Walter Crook went to Gibbon
yestorday to attend the funeral of tho
late II. E. Hershoy which was held this
forenoon. The deceased was a well to
do cattle feeder of Gibbon, and a prom
inent man in that section of tho state.
Mrs. Hershoy visitod Mrs. Crook a few
weeks ago and met a number of North
Platte ladies.

Charley Bogue returned Wednesday
from Kansas City where he transacted
business for several days. Enroute
home he stopped qver in 6mnha, reach
ing that city about ten minutes after
the cyclone had struck the city. Mon
day he went over tho storm's path,
nnd says words cannot express the
nwfulness of the ruin.

pleasant talker and his lecturo was
well received by the audience, judging
