The lower house of the legislature on Tuesday jumped on to the fifty-car train hill with both feet and knocked it out by a brutal majority. Some of the legislators looked on tho bill as a big joko. Membora of 13. of R. T. will probably "rompmber" those members who voted against tho bill. In his speech before the Nebraska legislature Wednesday Secretary of State Bryan, who came from Washing ton to attend the banquet given in his honor by tho democrats of tho state, mado this atntement: "Mr. Toft i'b one of tho most lovable men I ever mot and ho goes out of office respected more than any prosfdent for some timo. It was not President Taft who was de footed, but the principles of tho party back of him. Wo have to tell you how good our wagons are to get.your first order. After that, we expect tho wagon itself to do the selling. I H C wagons Weber New Bettendorf Columbus Steel King arc made of selected, high-grade , material throughout. The lumber is air-dried in huge sheds for three years or more before it is used. Air-drying takes years of time, and leaves the fibres of the wood filled with and cemented together by the natural resinous residue of the sap. Kiln-drying requires only a few days' time and leaves the wood brittle and weak. Air-drying produces elastic lumber, wagon parts that bend and give under loads and strains, but that spring back when the strain is removed.
