Fire Destroys Barn.
A well built barn on tho vacant lot
west of tho Ray Robinson house on
west Fifth street and belonging to Wm.
Otten was burned Tuesday night, as
was alio an automobile stored therein.
Tho fire was first discovered about
eleven o'clock, and at that timo the
flames woro issuing from tho hay loft,
indicating that tho fire started in that
porion of the building. The only animal
in tho barn was a cow and it was
lobsed, but efforts to save tho automo
bile wero unavailing. The origin of
the fire is unknown, but the general
opinion is that tho fire was sot by
tramps who sought a night's lodging in
the hay loft. Tho fire department re
sponded to the call, but tho building
was a msss of flames when the com
panies arrived. Mn Otten places his
loss at $1,300.

He asked tho man with the auto how
many he could haul in tho back seat,
and on hearing that, I told him I did
not want any.
"Many northern people got soaked
