Ono of the largest pears we have ever seen was handed to us Sunday by Mrs. N. B. Spurrier during a brief visit at the Spurrier farm. It was picked from a tree planted twenty years ago and this is the first season it had borne fruit. Tho tree blossoms each spring but with the exception of this year tho bloom has been killed by the frost.
