Tlio recent cold weather was not without its advantages; scientist tell ub that nil tlio disease microbes huvo been fror.cn stiff and will not eomo to life. Thin in particularly gratifying to Dr. CJuigley, who is commnndlng gonurnl of the forces who are fighting norms and microbeH in Nebraska. "Fighting Hob" Evans, who died Ht Washington last week, will bu kindly remembered by the hundred of North Platte school children and others who saw and heard him when he made a hort talk to the jteople a few year ago when he passed through here after leaving the war vessels he had taken around the world. Brother Bryan, who went to Wash ington to meet with the democratic national committer and to toll them who should and who should not repre sent certain states on the committee, was vigorously swatted. Ho denied the right of Colonel Duiry to repre sent Pennsylvania and the committee knocked out Brynn's plea by a votoof thirty-three to thirteen. r The, Rev. Mr. Kichoson. of Hostnn. who betrayed his awcethonrt and to escape that publicity which time would urmg forth gavo her a cynnido pill which resulted In her death, has con fessed and has been given the death sentence. Ho Is n villain in clerical garb; whllo professing his lovo for the girl Ho murdered, ho was to have been married to another girl a few days fol lowing the murder. "While Norris Brown continues to attend to his offcinl duties in Washing ton In n dignified manner, his friends In Nebrnska will see to it that his po litical interests in Nebraska do not suirer, and that ho is accorded the en dorsement fof re-nomination to the senate. The senator is ono of the true progressives who stood for11 progressive policies in Nebraska whon such a stand meant something, and when, in so doing no was compelled to battle with some oftho place-hunters who are today Hurling the epithet of a standpatter at him. Thero Is not a man in public life anywhere in tho nation who hna n more continuous and consistent record for progrossivonoss than Senator Nor ris Brown and through itnllho has been . a steadfast loyal republican, preferring that tho needed reforms should be brought about through tho party, rnthor than by tho destruction of it. Tho republicans of Nebraska are grate ful to Senator Brown for tho position ho has maintained , and they will en dorse his candidacy at the coming pri maries. " Fnirbury News. Vital Statistics.
