General Inspection.
A general inspection of tho Union
Pacific shops over tho entire system
will bo begun at Ogdon on October 1st,
and will bo carried on eastward, This
inspection is conducted by tho superin
tendentn of tho various divisions and
districts and Is very thorough. Prices
aro given to tho shops which arc found
to be in tho best condition, Shop fore
men are now preparing for tho inspoc
tion here by putting their buildings and
machinery in. first-class condition. Sev
eral gangs of men aro busy plastering
and painting in dilloront shops, and
others arc replacing broken panes of
glass. This will bo followed by a gen
oral houso-cleaning, and arrangement
of all tools and machines, which will
bo put in their proper positions and well
