In Omaha a test case is being mado
of the 8 o'clock closing law the license
being taken away and a fino of $100
mposed. The law has been upheld in
tho lower courts but has been ap
pealed to th9 higher court to test its
constitutionality.

Jacob Frahm, who was sent to the
penitentiary from Deuel county about
fifteen years ago for murdering his
wife and who was pardoned on July
4th, has rofusod to leave the peniten
tiary and inconsequence has been made
a guard in tho institution that has been
his homo for tho past fifteen years
The two-year old child of Mrs. Myrtle
Troycr, of Lexington, which had been
lost In tho hills twenty-six miles north-
wost of Lexington, was found Friday I
after a search of forty-two hours. I
Mrs. Troyor was visiting at the homo
of a brother north of Lomax, and
whilo absont from tho house the child
wandored away and all efforts to find
it wero unavailable, although blood
hounds wcro used and ubout 200 people
joined in the search. When found tho
child seemed little worso for tho ex
posure.
