Bert Brown Badly Scalded Bert Brown, who 1ms charge of the clam-shell scoop nt the Union Pacific ice lake, was badly scalded by steam yesterday afternoon, the burns affect ing his hands, face and legs. His in juries aro so serious that it is tho pres ent intention to send him to an Omha hospital for treatment. The accident was duo to tho breaking of the clamp which held thn scoop rigid, and when this broko the car con taining tho engine and boiler toppled over, allowing the steam to escape. Mr. Brown was thrown in Buch a posi tion that ho could not get away from the released steam in time to avoid being scalded. As soon as he could get to his feet ho ran nnd jumped into tho lake, which cooled off tho heated clothing, elso the burn 3 on legs would have been worse. Will Remodel Store Room.
