Saturday at midnight, September 5th, fire was discovered in the rear of our store, threatening to extermin
ate the whole building, but the quick response of the fire department confined the fire to a few square feet in
rear of store. Hence we sustained little or no loss beyond a few odd trousers, overalls and rubber goods, such as
were kept in that part of the room. There was not a drop of water thrown in the front of the store, conse
