State Historical fcicly t CM TWENTY-IfOWlTIl YEAR. NORTH PLATTE, NEBRASKA, JULY 10, 1908. NO. 48 Motth A. A. , r-w Plans for New Court House. W. P. Gcmandt, who was in town novcral weeks ago and upon solicitation of citizens agreed to draw plans for a new court house arrived Wednesday and in the evening exhibited the drawings at a meeting held at the Commercin Club rooms. These plans, given in dotall, are for a fire-proof building 100x110 feet, with basement and two floors. In the base ment aro offices for two county officials a large public comfort room, nursery for country residents, toilet rooms for men and women, and bollor and fuol rooms; also vaults for the officials who havo offices there. On the first floor aro located the offices of the county clerk, county treasurer, county superintendent and county judge. Each of these aro pro vided with private offices and with ample vault room. On the top floor is tho district court room, judge's office, clerk of the district court offico and two jury rooms, also vaults for the protection of court records. Tho ar rangement of tho building is pro nounced excellent by nil who have seen tho plans. Accompanying tho plans is a drawing showing tho exterior view of tho building, which certainly shows up well. The maximum cost of tho build ing is plucod at ono hundred thousand dollars. After tho plans had been examined discussed by those present Wednesday evening, it was decided to hold a public meeting at tho court house Saturday afternoon, August 1st, to discuss the question as to whether the people of tho country desire u new court house. It is tho desire to havo ns many country residents attend this meeting m possible; they are asked to como whether they favor or oppose such a building. Tho question is one in which every ta:: payor is interested; it nffects him in two ways at present tho title to his is in jeopardy for reason that county records are unprotected from fire, on the other hand a new building will cost him additional taxes. To discuss these phases is tho object of tho meeting, and we should meet as neighbors and consider the matter fully and fainly. Tho plans prepared for tho building will be on exhibition at this meeting. The B. K. & W. clothes for comfort, stylo and quality at Tho Hub. , Christian Church, L. C. Swan, Pas- ' tor.
