George A Becchcr deliv ered bis first sermon as rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church Sun day forenoon and was listened to with deep interest by an overflowing- congregation. As a Kearney boy, coming under the influence of the sainted Dr. Oli ver, young Becchcr was prepared for the Episcopal ministry. For some eight years be has filled parishes and done missionary work in the western part of the State, and did a splendid work in his last parish at North Platte.
