LZaAX. NOTICES. TARRH The treatment of Catarrh with antiseptic nnd nstrinBcnt washes, lotions, salves, mccncaicu iod.icco nnd cigarettes or any external or local application, is just ns senseless as would be kindling n fire on top of the pot to make it boil. True, these give temporary relief, but the cavities and passages of the head and the bronchial tubes soon fill up again with mucus. Taking cold is the first Btcp towards Catarrh, for it checks perspiration, and the poisonous acids and vapors which should pass off through the skin, are thrown back upon the. mucous membrane or inner skin, nrn.litnSnrr ?nf1.itntt1!ltton tttltl eXCCSStVC flow of ltlUCUS, i.,ui, wlifrli t.q nbsorbed Into the blood, and throurrh the circulation reaches every part of the system, involving the Stomach, Kidneys and other in tho sum of 10.77; iiinuiiutintf in th parts of the body. Tiuj government crop report gives Nebraska a per ccntagc of eighty-nine on winter wheat, which is considerably above the average and but one state Mis sourishows a higher per cent age. In this particular Nebraska is certainly all right. In 1890 the total assessed valu ation of Nebraska was ten million dollars greater than ' it was in 1901. This might lead some to think that the state is retrograd ing, but it is not, the falling off is due to the system of assessing now in vogue. One county will assess at one-fourth actual value, while in another n one-tenth basis is used.
