INToloi-cvnlca. 5 Tlio Baptist Meetings. A very solemn and spiritually toned series of evangelistic services are in progress at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Daly and wife, evangelists from Omalni. The church is filled with an atten tive audience each night. On Wednesday night the congregation crowded the house, when Pastor Pubs baptized several converts. Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Daly ad dressed a large and representative congregation of ladies. The ladies present were so deeply interested that by request she will continue her addreHB to ladies only on Sat urday afternoon at three o'clock. The address will be especially to girls, but no one under sixteen years of age will be admitted. Next Sunday at 3 p. in. Rev. Daly will address men only, and no one under sixteen years of age will be admitted. There will be no men' meeting at the rooms Sunday because so many desire to attend the men's meeting at the Daplist church. State Secretary Hailey says that it is assured that the largest Y. M. C. A. convention eyer held in the slate will be held this week at York. Frank Broach is 'ooking after the business of the association in the absence of the secretary. At the home of the bride's par ents in Whither precinct, at 6 o'clock Feb loth, ISdaon C. Allison and Miss Mary B. Jensen both of Whittier precinct. The ceremony was performed by F. A. ttoby also of Whittier. After congratulations were extended a sumptuous supper was served to the near friends and relatives pres ent. Mr. Allison is well known as an enterprising young tanner, and Miss Jensen as a successful teacher. Wc predict for them a prosperous future. K. BETWEEN THE IUVEE.S. 11. Newberry came over into the valley f out McPherson county Wednesday on business connected with bin ranch in the valley. We understand that he wants to get a family to rebide in the house and look after things and that he will wotk the farm the coining season. J. C. Gyger of the Nichols cream ery was at the county seat with butler Tuesday. W. E. I'aik, on the Dillon ranch, and his father-in-law Amos Bour beau of Albany, Win , were looking over this country the fore part of tins week. The first of March will soon he hete and the tillers of the soil are making ready to begin farming about that time. The ground at the present time is in fine condition for cultivation. Miss J;iinie Ware who is teach ing at the county seat spent last Saturday and Sunday with rela tives near Hershev. Bick Shinkle who has resided on the Newberry farm the past year has rented the old canal company farm near Hershey formerly oc cupied by E. C. McCord, who is moving to his own farm just west of llershey. Bick we understand will put in several acres of sugar beets the coming season, A consignment of butler was shipped from the Nichols creamery lo Omaha last Wednesday. Wild ducks are said to he quite plentiful in the valley at this time. The old canal company will erect anew yrainery on their farm oc cupied by W. A. Hoover. He m hauling the material from North Platte at the present time. A. M. Stoddard went to Omaha with cattle the first of the week. L. 12. Jones and Chas. Tollhon eacli sold W. C. Cole a. number of fat hogs recently. The parties who went to Chicago with W. A. Pavton's last shipment of fat cattle are expected home to day or tomorrow. It is stated that Will Funkho'user and family, who recently came to llershey from Lincoln, will take up their abode in the yalley and make it their future abiding place. Holliugsworth purchased a carpet loom of parties at North Platte one day this week. Much needed icpaira have lately been made in the interior of the Methodist church at llershey. W. C.
