SEQUEL TO THE HADDOCK CASE.

lished an item relative to Eugene
Haddock, ol McPlierson county,
corresponding with a Jersey City
young lady, that he had sent her
money to come west in order that
they might be married, that the
girl had been robbed in Chicago,
and that Haddock had sent money
to her there. At the time it was
supposed that Haddock had been
buncoed, but a dispatch from Chi
cago, under date of December 10th.
gives a sequel to the story and is
cyidcncc that the girl acted in good
faith. The dispatch is as follows;

the safety of JcBBie Allon, bright
looking and twenty-two years old,
who disappeared in Chicago sev
eral days ago while enroute from
Jersey City to her new home in
North Platte, Nebraska.
Miss Allon arrived in Chicago
last Thursday from the cast, and
proceeded at once to the North
western railway depot, where she
expected to take a train for the
west. While waiting for the train
to be made up her purse, contain
ing money and a ticket to thr Ne
braska town, was snatched from
her hands. The frightened women
thus found herself alone and penni
less in a great city, kindness was
shown her by the depot master,
and money was given her to pay
her hotel bill until she could receive
linancinl assistance from fricndB in
North Platte. Transportation for
her waB received today by J. T.
Gough, passenger agent of the
Norhwcstcrn road, but Miss Allon
cannot be found.
The police have been asked to
, assist in finding her, and every
police station in Chicago now has
a description of the missing
woman. She is described as being
five feet seven inchcB tall, weighing
147 pounds, with black hair and
dark eyes. Eugene Haddock of
Lctnlcy, Neb., who sent the ticket
for Miss Allon fears she is dead or
kept a prisoner.

chief may know if all persons
working at a fire arc members of
the department.
