How Men Die. If we know all the methods of approach adopted by an enemy we are. the better enabled to ward oft the danger and postpone the moment when surrender becomes inevitable. In many instances the inherent, strength of the body suf fices to enable it to oppose the tendency toward death. Many, however, have lost these forces to such an extent that there is little or no help. In other cases a little help to the weakened lungs will make all the difference between sudden death and many years of useful life. Upon the first symptoms of a cough, cold or any trouble of the throat or lungs, give that old and well, known remedy Boschee's German Syrup, a care ful trial. It will prove what thousands say of it to be. the "benefactor of any home." The figures which the prohibi tion vote will cut in the .November 1 election is as uncertain as it was 111 1884. Much depends upon the ac tion of the national prohibition con vention which meets at Indianapolis on May 30. There promises to be a lively struggle for the presidential nomination in that party. St. John in spite of his popularity appears to have droppectijj of the race. Clin ton B. Fisk, ojT New Jersey, and Green Clay iSmith, of- Kentucky, however are rival candidates and are both eager to fight for the honor. But the question is can either of these men, if nominated, hold the party intac' ? A strong republican nominee would certainly draw hundreds of old time republi cans from the prohibition ranks. Threatened also with internal dis sentiohs. it is doubtful whether the third party can exert as much po litical power as it did four years ago. Bee. Dr. J. C.
