P. railroad and his successor will soon be appointed by Judge Dillon, the head of the law department of the corporation. For a time Monday after noon it appeared there would be a raid on the U. P. coal house, but the agents informed the crowd that a train then in sight had coal for Gothenburg and thus deferred the intended raid. Last Thursday morning the weather was balmy and spring-like and many were the predictions that a January thaw was certain. Be tween 11 and 12 o'clock, however, there was a very sudden change in the weather and a blizzard raged the remainder of the day, ending with extreme cold, and on Sunday morning "the thermometer ranged in thirties below zero. The storm was not so severe here as it was farther north and east, owing to the light snow-fall.in this ricinity.
