IJAPTIST CHURCH
We begin meetings next Sunday
morning:, the pastor to do the preach
ing and the singinar to lx in cr.nrce ol
Miss Alta Voting. With her efficient
help we are assured of some real cen
ts refMt.'our.l singing. Each evening
service will be preceded by a rinsrfest',
and all who love to sing the old time
religious pongs are invited to come
out at 7:30. The services will all
close promptly at 8:30. It has Icen
a policy of the pastor that he '.now
the needs of the people and town bet
ter than an outsider, and that he need
not employ an outside preacher to
come and tell his people what he him
self would not tell them. If we must
say some unpleasant things we will
say them ourself and take the conse
quences. There is no good reason why a
church should pay an outsider a great
sum of money to do what the pastor
Is employed to do. We claim to be
better able to tell the Alliance people
what they should hear than any out
sider, and therefore at th Hnntl.-t
church you will hear the old-time re
ligion preacneci witn the old-time
plainness, and if the sermons put vnu
to the heart, you will know who did
it These meetings are to be held not
more than two weeks, and each meet
ing will begin on time and end on
time, so be there promptly if you
wish a good seat.
Next Sunday' ulJcta will be as
follows: Morning, "What Is a Re
vival T" Who are to be revived, the
Christians or the unsaved? We claim
that a revival is not held principally
to save the unbelievers. We hold, and
the Bible states, that an unsaved per
son cannot be reviveL Do you agree
with us? The evening topic, by re
quest, will be: "Friendship, or Jon
athan and David." We are told that
the Odd Fellows are preparing to
come in a body, and crowd the house.
Come on, boys, we are ready but
come early or you will be crowded
out. Previous to the evening sermon
Brother Herbaugh will tell the story
of his conversion and the pastor will
answer the question: "Did the Cath
olic Church Change the Sabbath?"
at the morning sermon.
The pastor has been made honorary
member of two of the labor unions
and we are told tha snm ni k'
