One member of the house says he
pays no attention to petitions, letters,
etc., that come to him from back home.
He says he always has his mind made
up as to what he is going to do and
such things have no influence on him.
This is one trouble with some legisla
tors. They want to legislate their own
opinions all the time.
The American Legion boxing bill
n'.ssed the house by a large majority.
The Legion members are hoping the
senate will increase the amount that
may be charged for admission.

So far no bill has attracted quite so
much attent:on in the house as the hail
insurance brll. Jt had smooth sailing
in the committee of the whole until the
section providing a revolving fund of
$100,000 for working capital' wai
reached. Then the oratory started and
more than, half a dav was needed U
decide the question. It was finally de
! cided to not remove that section. The
next question was zone rates . Some
sections of the state think they are
discriminated against. It seemed at
first the bill would be killed by u
night's rest but instead, it caused a
reaction in its favor and it now ap
pears to have a chance to pass.
The house refused to pass a bill re-tiu'rine-
architects to be licensed. The
main objection seemed to be that it
would provide for another state ex
amining board.
