Vaughn, formerly stock salesman with the Alliance Packing company of this city, was severely in jured last Friday in Kansas City, Mo., when the automobile In which he was riding collided with another car, the driver of which was arrest ed for careless driving. Vaughn has a number of friends in this city. The following account of the acci dent is taken from the Kansas City Star of October 2: "Pearl F. Vaughn, 1737 Jefferson street, and C. W. Erickson, who gave his address as the Hotel Savoy, both oil stock salesmen, were taken to General hospital yesterday afternoon with severe injuries received with a light roadster in which they were riding east on Fifteenth street was overturned at the Intersection of Bennington avenue. The roadster collided with a small touring car drlven by a young man who gave hip name as J. C. Worth, living at 2631 East Eleventh street. "According to Erlcksoa's state ment at the hospital, he and Vaughn were on the way to Butler, Mo., when Worth'B car came from ttu south on Gennlngton avenue at a high rate of speed and struck their roadster.
