Mo., Is visiting her sister, Mrs. John
son, for a few days. From here Miss
Johnson will go to Denver.
. D. W. Wilson and family left to
day for Lewellen, Neb.
George Fennlng, nine-year-old son
of Mr. and Mrs. Fennlng, while play
ing at wading stepped Into some
glass and cut a very deep gash in
his right foot.
Mr. and Mrs. C. Hucke and daugh
ter of Hemtngford are spending a
couple of days this week in Alliance
hopping. .

Next Sunday will be Children's
day. At the morning service an op
portunity will be given for all those
wishing to have' small children bap
tised to present them. Following the
baptismal service an address will be
given by Mss Ethel Lasby, represent
ing the woman's foreign missionary
society. The program by the chil
dren will be given at the evening
service.
It might be welMo mention at this
time that the young people's, gospel
team of Hemlngford, numbering
about twenty, .have accepted the In
vitation of our Epworth league to
be with us on Sunday night, June
20, and take entire .charge of the
evening service. This team has been
to neighboring towns and conducted
services with much success. Further
announcements will be made next
week.
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
There will bo special services at
the First Baptist church next Sun
day morning and evening. The
Northwestern Baptist association will
be In session, and some of the state
representatives of the denomination
will be here. This will be the prin
cipal day of the meeting and every
body is invited to the services. The
orchestra will play. They always
have something tneclal for those who
enjoy good music. Bring your
friends and enjoy a good time. Re
member this la the "home-like
church," and In matters of religious
preference as well as everything else,
there Is no place like home.

The summer Is now nere and It
brings us to the convention season.
The convention of the Fltst Nebras
ka district Will be held at Gering
next week. The dates are Junel6
and 17. A splendid program has
been prepared. The state ' Sunday
school convention, will be held at
Scottsbluff June 18 to 20. This is
the first time the state Sunday school
convention has come to our part of
the stale. Alliance ought to send at
least twenty-five delegates.
The minister will preach next
Lord's day on the following subjects:
"The Table of Our Lord," and "One
Lord, One Faith and One Baptism."
At the evening service a special or
chestra will assist with the worship.
We can make this summer the
best in our history. United efforts
In service and prayer will bring the
results. The mid-week meeting of
the church each Wednesday evening..
This will be followed by the cTiolr'
practice. Young people's prayer ,
meeting each Sunday evening at f
o'clock.
