Porter Motor Co., Broken Bow, Neb. 40 POLITICAL ADVERTISING rWTuoolTFOKsWATOR J. W. Good has filed for renomln ation on the Republican ticket for State Senator of the 28th district. I believe that my record In the legis lature in 1919 would entitle me to the second term, as my services were satisfactory to the people in general over the district. I did my very best for the people and t e district as a whole, but- as It takes some time the first term for anyone te get acquaint ed ith the running of VHelegisla ture, I believe that I or anyone else ought to give you better service the second term than the first. I believe I know the needs of the farmer, ranchman, the business man. My business relations with the rail road man qualifies me to know some thing of his needs. I homesteaded In my district 34 years ago, and have farmed and raised stock all my Ife I have also been in the mercantile business for SO years, and at the same time I operated my farms and ranches. With my experience In the legis lature, I am satisfied that we need some changes in the laws; not more laws but better laws; for Instance, we should have, some change in the pardon and parole law. I will be very much pleased to have your support, your vote, and your Influence. Sincerely yours, 39 J. W. GOOD. Chad ron Journal. 89 POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT NNOUNCOiEJTC I am a candidate for State Senator, Twenty-eighth Senatorial District, on the Republican ' Ticket, Primary Election, April 20, 1920. 1 have lived In the district the past thirty years, and have been Identified mostly with the mercantile trade, from which I have Just retired. I have given some study to the community Interests of country and town, so that In matters pertaining to the farmer and the business man I believe I can serve both acceptably. Below is a digest of the primary low for 1920: Precinct primaries. April 20, 1920. County conventions. May 11. 1920. State convention, Ma7 13, 1920. Each voting prrcinct shall elect delegates to the county conven tions at the primary election; also shall elect one man and one woir.au as member of the County Centra committee for a term of two years. Women can vote only as follows: For school officers,' presidential prt-f erence, municipal officers, county of ficers, except Judge; delegates to the national convention, preqlnct office's, except justice of the peace; for coun ty bonds and for township officers. Cut this out and keep it. Soliciting your votes, I am GEORGE E. GORTON, 40 Crawford, Neb. POLITICAL AD ERTISHMENT D. S. D.I. Do Something to Defeat Hitchcock. John Barleycorn is not dead! The liquor octopus in Nebraska is trying to hold control of one of our great parties. Let us send a "dry" delegation to the Democratic National Convention, and use every effort to help other states keep a "wet" plank but of that platform. During all the years of "wet" and 'dry" campaigning, the liquor men have had no greater champion than Gilbert M. Hitchcock. He was the only Nebraska man in Congress who voted against Prohibition; and has opposed the advancement of women at every turn. He and the notorious Governor Edwards, who has pledged to make New Jersey as "wet as the Atlantic ocean, are being put out as leaders of the liquor forces in several states In Nebraska the issue is clear cut. There are two distinct groups of del egates to vote for on the democratic Primary ballot. Study these lists carefully. There are many good Democrats who have long battled with us for right against wrong. For President and Vice President write in the names of any of these: I For Democratic National Commit teeman, rote for W. H. Thompson. Remember that Arthur Mullen con trolled the Hindenburg line in our legislature and tried to make our state prohibition law a farce. He it was who said to some prominent woman In Omaha: "The government made a great mistake when they let the niggers vote, and I hope they will not repeat it by letting the women vote." Shame on any honest Ne braskan who gives his vote to such a man. For delegates to the Democratic National Convention, vote for W, J. Bryan, Lincoln; George W. Berge, Lincoln; Dan V. Stephens, Fremont; J. J. Thomas, Seward. For alter nates, write in the names of Dr. Jennie Callfas, Omaha; Mrs. Cather ine MeOerr. Falls City; Elmer JB. Thomas. Omaha; C. W. Bryan, Lin coln. These are all pledged to vote for "dry" candidates, and in the sup port of the strict enforcement of our Prohibition Federal Amendment. For Delegates from the Sixth District, vote for Frank J. Taylor, St. Paul; and C. W. Beall, Broken Bow. They have fought against the liquor In terests for many years. Put your vote where it Will count for rlgh teousness sake. . HARRIET VANCE.
