Mrs. II. J. Kuhn and daughter,

are planning to take a trip to Basin.

George Bloom will go to Scott
bluff this week for a few days.
Harold Benjamin, pipe fitter, will

Mrs. G. E. Carlson, wife of Fire
man Carlson, is planning a visit to
Lincoln soon.
Mrs. C. B. Gibson, wife of Engin
eer Gibson, who has been spending
Che winter in California in the hope
of Improving her health, is reported
&B not recovering very rapidly.
Engineer C. E. Person has gone to
Dunning for a few days' visit.
Machinist George Bloom is work
ing at the rod bench in the back shop
in place of eGorge Davis, who has
taken charge of motor car work since
.Machinist Claude Wiley was trans
ferred to Casper, Wyo.
.Machinist Quinette, who has been
quite sick In the St. Joseph hospital
for several weeks, was taken to Lin
coln Sunday night. He was accom
panied by a trained nurse.
Mrs. Charles Liedloff, who has
been sick for the past few days, has
xecovered.
Henry Parsons, night hostler at
the round house, left last Friday for
' his homestead sixty miles northwest
of Newcastle, Wyo. He expects to
be gone about one week.
Miss Edna Lewis, who is teaching
about seven niilps northwest of the
city, visited over Saturday and Sun
day with her sister, Mrs. Case, whose
husband is a conductor.
Brakeman Earl Mayflcld returned
Saturday morning from a visit with
his mother and other relatives in Au
rora. He also spent Bome.thne In
Omaha.
John Blume, employed In the
Stock yards, who went to Lead, S. D.,
two weeks ago to visit friends, has
gone on to the state of Washington,
lie will return in about four months.
Councilman Harry Johnson left
for New Orleans Friday night for a
two weeks' visit.
Mrs. Wilkinson, wife of the fore
man In the boiler room at the round
house, has had the pleasure of a nice
visit with her two sisters from stock
ton, 111. They returned to their home
Sunday night.
A special train making an inspec
tion trip over the Alliance division
will be through Alliance today.

dent of Motor Car, and Holdcrlug
who has been superintendent over
the C. B. & Q. lines west of the Mis

five years. The men In the shopn arj

for Inspection. The window were
recently washed and the floor of the
machine shop has been swept twice
this morning.
Conductor Beach gets a local out
of Alliance today.
J. P. Dalley and C. E. Rider pas
senger conductors on 41 and 42 have
reported back to work after a short
vacation.
Conductor F. K. Roberta. T. K.
Griffith and A. T. Garvin left for
Kansas City Monday night on com
pany business.
C. P. Hutchison lefi for Omaha
yesterday for a Bhort vacation.

about thirty days visiting in Omalm.
Brakeman R. B. Burns has return
ed to work after spending a few
weeks in Kansas City.

Omaha yesterday where they will at
tend the animal refrigerator schedule
meeting.

Davis, will return from Lincoln to
morrow where she has been attend

Operator Laura Wood of Antloch
was in Alliance Saturday for cental
work.

and Eberly are ou vacations.
Fireman Cox is off with the grippe.
Ralph Garvin, night caller at the
round house is off with the mumps.
He was relieved Sunday night by Vir
gil Abar the day call boy.
Machinist Apprentice Ralph Smith
is going to move to Denver with his
father and mother soon. His father
has sold his home here in Alliance
and expects to move to Denver soon.
Ralph resigned his position Monday
morning.
Harold Rledman has recently ac
cepted a position as machinist in the
shops here.
.Machinist Quinette was removed
to his home in Lincoln yesterday. Ho
was not able to sit up yet and was
accompanied by his mother and a
nurse.
. Machinist - Roy Miller and bis
brother Guy Miller left for Denver
to take some masonic degrees.
Harry Baird, foreman of the
Johny-Gang has arcepted a position
to work on the paving this spring.
His position is to be filled by 'Fat
Ralph.
Georgo Davis who was recently
transferred to the Gasolnie Repair
department has returned to the ma
chine shop.
Machinist Carl Hopkins has gone
to New Castle, Wyo., for a few days.
Painter Foreman H. M. Johnson,
wife and children left Friday for a
few days' vrslt in Denver.
Charles Weaver, pipe -fitter. Is
spending a few days at New Castle,
Wyo.
Martin Gebhart, machinist, and
and son, Marvin, machinist's helper,
went lo New Castle, Wyo., for a few
days this week.
Paul Thrush Is a new machinist
who cbmes to us from Ft. Morgan,
