Calling names is the last resort of
Ignorance.
Anyway, we'll bet Rufe didn't
write that one about the skunk.
But Borne of the others have a

More Shakespeare: "There's some

Do you suppose they had circula

Who made that audit?
Only a trifle of 750 subscribers
that exist only in the imagination.

Sometimes they get away with It.
Them days ain't no more now.
Advice to advertisers: Don't pay
for It if you didn't order it. There's
no law under which it can be col

These be hard days for autocrats.
What's six months out of a life
time?
Mavbe the Sallow will take five
nr fpn minutes oft some day and wire
the president what he ought to do
about Mexicff. We think it would
be a generous act, and would come
nicely from a generous man.
Mexico's Retting to be a bit
troublesome, but the case isn't hope
less until Ben says so.
It takes the armchair warriors to
tell you all about It.
An h had nerve enough to count

That was the "most unklndeBt cut

He's not.

AL SEIFERT
MAY STOP AT ALLIANCE
IN KNDUtANCK TOUIl
The secretary for the national en
durance automobile contest has writ
ten the Community club for further
details about the city, its hotel and
restaurant facilities, as well as ask
ing for a lot of data about roads.
Last week the directors voted to ex
tend an invitation to the managers
of the tour to place Alliance on their
Itinerary and plan to make a stop
here.
It appears that the tour is quite
an extensive affair, and there will bo
not only a large number of contest
ants, but an immense caravan of cars
following in their wake. It will be
no easy Job to take care of all of
them. The directors discussed the
matter and came to the conclusion
that Alliance was as well fitted as
almost anw other city in this sec
tion of the state, and they will be
Informed of that fact. Incidentally,
it will be a pretty difficult thing to
mark out a course in western Ne
braska and not touch Alliance, for
about the only decent road that is
marked all along Is the AUIance-
Chadron-Scottsbluff route.
The directors decided that It
would be a good thing to take the
matter up with other towns in this
section, and see If united effort will
have any effect.
