SHOW YOURJOOD WILL
The annual sale of Red Cross
rseals is now on. The Intention Is to
raise a fund of 16.500,000 to carry
on a campaign during 1920 against
the great white plague. The annual
death toll In the United States from
tuberculosis Is 150,000- persona.
Much of the work of the' Christ
mas sales will be done by women.
Government reports show that lit
terally thousands of children fall vic
tims to tuberculosis, which frequent
ly advances into tuberculosis menin
gitis, causing death. The powers of
resistance against disease germs can
be built up by fresh air, sunshine
and good food. Care of children Is
fundamentally woman's business.
American women have responded
to appeals for aid for Belgian babies,
Armenian babies, French babies, all
children of Btrlcken countries every
where have been clothed and com
forted by American mothers and big
Bisters.
America, too, is a stricken country,
for more than 12,000 little ones die
each year from a disease that could
be prevented. Unlike the monster of
war, with its roar and apparent aw
fulness, disease creeps too often
silently and unsuspected upon Its
Yietim. The dry cought neglected
becomes incurable.
With the return of the Christmas
tide a bit of good will toward men
will be manifested by a generous in
vestment in the cheerful little Red
Cross seals. Why not use them on
your parcels in place of others that
aid only In the revenue of the man
ufacturer and dealer?
Red Cross Christmas seals only
ost one cent each. Buy today and
again tomorrow. You will be hap
pier and add to the happiness of
others.

It's pretty hard to get away with
It. A lot of police ofTlcers aren't the
most Intelligent people In the world,
and a good ninny crooks are pretty
bright, but the man who Is able Xtr
continue a life of crime without be
ing caught, sooner or later, is
scarce article. Take the case of Bill
Carlyle, who escaped from the Wr
onilng penitentiary a few days agov
BIU was evidently a crook who wt
girted with a little better than th
average Intelligence, but It dln't take
very long to get him. The best of
them finally slip up somewhere.

Provided, of course, it's pure candy.
Why not safeguard the youngsters on candy as you do
on their daily tood? Buy chocolates and candies that
are ALWAYS good, pure and wholesome that if
eaten in daily moderation, will build them up as much
as their meat and bread and milk.
Look for the bright gold Brecht Shield, the unblemished
Sign of Good Candy it's your and your children's
protection every day in the year.
Give the youngsters a Brecht Candy

happy to watch them enjoy it.
