The Newberry Hardware com
pany this week got one order from a
nearby city which shows other places
are not so fortunate as Alliance. A
firm in Scottsbluff sent them an or
der for forty oil heaters. Scotts
bluff is face to face, not with a coal
shortage, but with a coal famine

L. D. Blair of this city recently
sold the Antloch bakery, which he
has been conducting for the past two
years, and has aa yet made no plans
for the future. He expects some
time before long to engaged in busi
ness, but Just what kind and where
have not been determined. Mr. Blair
Is one of the old settlers of Box
Butte county. In the days before
there was a single house In the city
he lived in a tent near the present
site.
The Evangelical Lutheran church
at the corner of Yellowstone and
Seventh streets will havs service next
Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
