All such might havo been voided by care In handling a match, 4gar or cigarette and keeping, the premises free from grease and trash Or other substance calculated to pro 4nco spontaneous combustion. We re approaching that season of the jar when. In this latitude, people will begin starting their: stoves and furnaces. All such should be examined and replaced when found defective. It is desirable that State Fire day be observed in keeping with Its true Intent, and therefore, I re peat that public and private schools fake up the' subject of how to pre vent fires and how to behave in case fro breaks oof In. school houses or other public places,' The mayors of Cities can do a good, service by stir ring up the minds of We people and calling attention to hene matters. ; "The state 'fire, marshal has pre pared and will send to every marshal of cities and to the town clerk 6f each village, a statement giving sug gestions as to the manner of conduct ing public meetings on State Fire 4ay, and indicating subjects to be discussed, so as to thoroughly im press the minds of the people with the necessity of proper care in the natter of handling fire and in look ing after every place about the prem ise, where fire is most likely to occur.
