The committee hating in hand
arrangements for Merchants Fall
Market Week, September 8 to 11. In
Omaha has planned the most elabor
ate program ever offered Tlsltlng
merchants. Monday evening, Sep
tember 8, the man will be the guests I
of Ak-Sar-Ben, while the ladles will
be given an automobile ride followed
by a theatre party; Tuesday, Sep
tember 9, there will be a big outdoor '
picnic at Miller Park With a box
luncn, ice cream, lemonade, n
everything. Following the lunch
there will be athletic contests - with
prises for the winners, after which
aU will go to the Frettlest Mile Club
house and dance. By the way, Dan
Desdunes's famous band will furnish
the music for this. Wednesday, Sep
tember 10, "Merchants Market Frol
ic" will be held at Ak-Sar-Ben den.
Ladies will be admitted to this for
the first time in history. There will
be dancing here also. Thursday,
September 11, will be the biggest
day of the whole affair. A noted
flyer will give a wonderful aeroplane
exhibition showing dives, tall spins,
spirals, and other stunts. Following
this exhibition there will be a buffet
dinner at the Field Club, the distri
bution of $1,000 worth of prises, and
another dance.

No. 38 is hereby created in the City
of Alliance,-Nebraska.
I Section 2. That Sewer .District
No. 38 shall include all real estate in

'ty-four (24) Box Butte Addition to
the City of Alliance, Nebraska,
Blocks S and T of Sheridan Addition
to the City of Alliance, Nebraska, the
North half of (N) of Lot one (1)
land Lots nine (9) to fourteen (14)

tion to the City of Alliance, Nebras

Executive Order of April 8. 1918, In
accordance with the provisions of
Section 2253 of the Revised Statutes
of the United States, and by virtue of
the authority therein given, directed
that:

ranges 17 to 24 west, Inclusive, and
townships twenyt-seven to thirty-five
north, of ranges seventeen to forty
west, inclusive be detached from the
Broken Bow land district and attach
ed to and made a part of the Alliance
land district in the State of Nebraska
and the business and archives per
taining to said lands transferred to
the land office at Alliance.

Palestine's 8alt Mountain.
Palestine possesses a remarkable
salt mountain situated at the south end
of the Dead sea. The length of the
ridge Is six miles, with an average
width of three-quarters of a mile, and
the height Is not far from 600 feet
There are places where the overlying
earthy deposits are many feet In thick
ness, but the mass of the mountain
la composed of solid rock salt, some
o which la as clear as crystal.
