York City. Dr. Suulivan is state his
torian and director of the division of
achives and history of the university
of the state of New York. He was
formerly principal of the Boys' high
school in Brooklyn for some ten years
and previous to that taught in the
summer school of that institution,
Cornell, Columbia and New York uni
versity. He studied for several years
in Europe, being a student at the
Eeole des Chartes in the University
of Parts, at the University of Berlin,
and also studied in Oxford, Munich,
Vienne and Home. He was in Europe
when the present war broke out. He
litis written texts on the government
of New York state and the history of ;
: England, and contributed various ar
ticles to periodicals and encyclope
dias on history and political science.

Dr. J. Harold Williams, '08, from
Whittier, California, was a welcome
visitor one day last week. He was en
route to Fairbault, Minn., where he
