That there will be some changes in departmental affairs when the leg islature meets next month Is quite certain. There is evidence of an al most unanimous Bentiment in favor of the consolidation of the hotel commission with the food, fruit and oil department, and as there seems to be no one clamoring for the posi tion which has been filled by Com missioner Ackerman for the pnst four years it Is surmised that Gov ernor-elect Neville also favors the cnnanllilalUn A..11 .,j VUww..ua.v.vu. nuuiuci consolida tion which would meet with the ap proval of a good many is the print ing commission with some other de partment. This is being strongly advocated not only as a matter of economy, but efficiency as well. However, from present Indications considerable opposition to thi8 plan will develop if the consolidation is attempted. E. A. Walrath. who has been the very efficient commissioner for the past two years, has given no tice that be does not want the Job any longer, and Governor-elect Ne ville has appointed Dan Webster of the St. Paul Phonograph to the Dlace. Even If the .consolidation was affect ed some practical 'man would have to be secured to take charge of the work, and it is not at all likely that Mr. Webster's appointment would be Jeopardized if such action were tak en. On the other hand if the new governor should oppose the .consoli dation it Is probable that the legis lature would respect bis wishes In the matter. Will My Child Take Dr. King's New.
