PURE FOOD AMENDMENT

That Article V (6). entitled "ExecutlTe Department," of the Consti
tution of the 8tate of Nebraska be and hereby is amended by adding
thereto the following new section to be numbered Section 19B:
SECTION 18B: The goTernor shall appoint an elector of the state
who shall be known as the Food, Drug, Dairy and Oil Commissioner.
Such commissioner shall be appointed for a term of six years and shall
hare power to administer all laws now administered by the Food, Drug,
Dairy and Oil Commission, and the powers possessed by the governor
as the commissioner of the Food. Drug, Dairy and Oil Commission shall
cease to exist in the governor and hia deputy, tmd shall become vested
la the Food. Drug, Dairy and Oil Commissioner, which commissioner,
without further authority of law is hereby authorized and directed
to assume and exercise all the powers and perform all the duties here
tofore vested in, or exercised by the governor with reference to the
Food. Drug, Dairy nd Oil Commission, but nothing herein shall limit
the general supervisory or examining powers vested in the governor by
the laws or the constitution of the state, or such as are -vested by him
la any committee appointed by iiitn. Said commissioner shall give
bond, receive such compensation, perform all duties and comply with
all regulations that are fixed and established by law.
