Meyer la Promoted
Prof. Earl Meyer, formerly prin
cipal of the Alliance High school,
who went from here to Randolph,
Nebraska, as superintendent of the
ehools there, has been appointed as
.superintendent of the Genera, Nebr
aska, schools, to succeed Prof. Earl
If. Cline, who goes to Nebraska City.
Prof. Meyer was married this turn
aer to Miss Spacht of Alliance. Their
nany friends here will be pleased to
learn of their success. The Geneva
schools have twenty teachers and are
kaown as one of the best systems in
ttie state.
Prof. Cline was principal of the
Alliance Junior Normal and ran for
the Democratic nomination for state
superintendent this year. He well
-deserves the promotion to his new
lace.

in making elaborate preparations for
the athletic entertainment to be glv
en at the opera house on December

11. P. Kauffman, traveling passen
ger agent for the Burlington, was in
Alliance the first of the week on his
way to Omaha from San Francisco,
where he. in company with 639 other
passenger agents, visited the expos
ition grounds on October 14. The
men were members of the American
Association of Traveling Passenger
Agents. They found everything in
readiness for the opening on Febru
ary 20, 1915. Forty nations and
forty-three states are represented al
ready at the exposition.
