than Inst week. There waa also an
actlxe trade in gtusa beeves and
prices wire anywhere from strong to

sold a little more freely than last
week, but prices, wore not materially
sliont;cr, and the mime was true aa to
Btock cattle and feeding steers. The
situation ia still very much unsettled
and jiiicea deciiledly irregular, but
prospects are favorable for aoaie re

Some G.fiOo hogs showed up In the
receipts yesterday. Trade was quit
active, with prices nearly a dime hlrh
er than the close of last week. Sinn
pers bought some hogs that wore fullv
Imc to as much as 15c higher. Bulk
of the supply went at $7.70&7.9o, and
tops reached $8.05.
About 9.00 sheep and lambs ar
rived yesterday. There were no new
or important changes from the close
of last week, with the exception that
receipts were light and nothing good
was on sale. Owing; to the absence
of anything good in the killing line,
trade dragged along most of the fore
noon. There were not enough aged
6heep here to make a market. Some
wheat-fed lnmba from Idaho brought
$8.80. Feeders sold readily at prices
a shade higher.

Again and again we have read of
strangers in distant towns who have
been cured by this or that medicine.
But Alliance's pertinent question has
always been ' Has anyone here in
Alliance been cured?" The word of
a stranger living a hundred miles
away may be true, but it cannot have
the same weight with us as the word
of our own citizens, whom we know
and respect, and whose evidence we
can so easily prove.
