PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL
AMENDMENT NO. THREE.
Ttie following proposed amendment to
the constitution of the State of Nebraska,
as hereinafter set forth In full. Is submit
ted to the electors of the State of Nebras
ka, to be voted upon at the general elec
tion to be held Tuesday, November 3rd,
A. D. 1914.
"FOR a Joint resolution proposing amend
ments to Section 1, of Article V, and
Section 24. of Article V, of the Consti
tution of Nebraska, relating to term of
office and salary of Governor and other
executive officers.
Be it Resolved and Enacted by the People
of the State of Nebraska:
Section 1. That nt the general election
for state and legislative offices, to be held
on the Tuenday succeeding the first Mon
day In November. 1914, the following be
submitted as amendments to Sections 1
and 24, of Article V, of the Constitution
of Nebraska:
Sec. 1. The executive department
shall constat of a Governor, who shall
hold his office for a term of two yeurs
from the flnt Thursdav after the first
Tuesday In January, next after his elec
tion, and until his successor is elected and
qualified. In addition to the) Governor, the
executive department shall Include the
following officers: Lieutenant Governor,
Secretary of State, Auditor of Public Ac
counts. Treasurer, Superintendent of Pub
lie Instruction. Attorney General, and
Commissioner of Public Lands and Build
ings, ej.cn of whom shall hold his office
for the term of two years from the first
Thursday after the first Tuesday In Janu
ary, next after his election, and until his
ucceMsor is elected and qualified; Pro
vided, however, that the first election of
aid officers shall be held on the Tuesday
succeeding the first Monday In November,
1114, and ench succeeding election shall
be held at the same relative time In each
even year thereafter. The Governor, Sec
retary of State, Auditor of Public Ac
counts, and Treasurer shall reside at the
sent of government during their terms of
office, and keep the public records, books
and papers there, and shall perform such
duties ss may be equired by law.
Sec. 24. The salary of the Governor
hall be five thousand ($5. 000.00) dollars
per annum. The salaries of Auditor of
Public accounts and Secretary of State.
Superintendent of Public In;tructlon and
Commissioner of Public Lands and Build
ings shall be two thousand five hundred
($2,500.00) dollars each per annum, and of
the Attorney General, four thousand dol
lars ($4,000.00) per annum, the salary of
the State Treasurer shall be three thou
sand ($3,000.00) dollars per annum, and the
Lieutenant Governor shall receive one and
one-half the compensation of a senator,
and after the adoption of this constitu
tion they shall not receive to their own
use any fees, costs, interests upon publlo
moneys In their hands, or under their con
trol, perquisites of office or other com
pensation, and alt fees that may hereafter
be payable by law for eTvlces performed
by an officer provided for In tils article
of the constitution shall be paid In ad
vance into the state treasury. There shall
be no allowance for clerk hire In the of
fices of the Superintendent of Publlo In
struction and Attorney General.
See. 2. That at said election on the
Tuesday succeeding the first Monday in
November, 1914, on the ballot of each
lector voting thereat, there shall be
printed or written the words: "For pro
posed amendment to the constitution,
fixing the term ot office and salary for
governor, and other executive officer,"
and "Against proposed amendments to
the constitution, fixing the term of office
and salary for governor, and other execu
tive officers."

that the foregoing proposed amendment
to the Constitution of 'the State of Ne
braska Is a true and correct copy of the
original enrolled and engroened bill, as
passed by the Thirty-third session of the
Legislature of the State of Nebraska, as
appears from said original bill on Ale In
this office, and that said proposed amend
ment is submitted to the qualified voters
of the State of Nebraska for their adop
tion or rejection at the general election
to be held on Tuesday, the 3rd day of
November. A. t. 1914.

The name of this corporation shall
be Alfalfa Land and Live Stock Com
pany. II
The principal place of transacting
its business shall be upon Section
one (1), township twenty-seven
(27), North, range forty-nine (49),
West, 6th Principal Meridian, in
Box Butte County. Nebraska.
Ill
The general nature of the busi
ness to be transacted shall be the
buying, selling and exchanging of
real estate, the buying, selling, ex
changing and breeding of live stock,
the buying. Belling and exchanging
f farm machinery, traction engines
and automobiles, the buying, selling,
exchanging and manufacturing of
farm and dairy products and the car
rying on of a general ranch and
farming business.

The time of commencement of this
corporation shall be the day upon
which these articles are filed for .rec
ord In the office of the County Clerk
of Box Butte County, Nebraska, and
its termination shall be twenty years
from the date of lta commencement
unless sooner terminated by vote of
three-fourths of the stock issued.
V
The amount of the authorized cap
ital stock of this corporation shall be
One Hundred and Fifty Thousand
($150,000.00) Dollars, in shares of
One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars
each. $100,000.00 of said capital to
be subscribed and paid in full at the
time of the commencement of this
corporation.
VI
The highest amount of indebted
ness or liability to which this cor
poration shall at any time subject
Itself shall not exceed an amount
equal to one-third of its authorised
capital stock.
VII
The officers by which the affairs
of this corporation shall be conduct
ed shall consist of a President, a
Vice-President, a Secretary, a Treas-
urer, and three Directors.

ers met pursuant to the call of the
Clerk, as a Board of Equalisation,
for the purpose of making the dif
ferent levies for the year 1914; mem
bers present, C. L. Hashman, chair
man, J. M. Wanek, S. C. Reck,-ana
M. S. Hargraves, Clerk.
Mrs. Mary Dwyer appeared before
the board and complained of the val-

the property the board ordered same
reduced from $3300 to $2800.
It appearing to the Board frost
the Secretary of the State Board of
Equalization, that the State Boara
of Equalization was satisfied with
the assessed valuation of Box Butt
County, Nebraska, as returned by the
County Assessor, and it further ap
pearing to the Board that the total
assessed- valuation of the taxable
property of Box Butte County,. Ny
braska, as made by the County As
sessor and returned by the Stat
Board of Equalisation and by then
accepted, amounts to $2,069,4 59. 0t.
Now it is the order of the Board
that there be levied on each dollar
of assessed valuation of the property
assessed in Bald County of Box
Butte, and State of Nebraska, for th
