Addition, City of Alii- Firestone Tires in War Service Just before the Mexican war cloud darkened the horizon of tbe U. S. War Department, General Luclo Blanco, commanding the Constitu tionalist forces in Mexico, drove bis war car through the thickest of the Matamoros battle. This car waa equipped with Firestone Non-Skid tires. The ttrea were badly mutilat ed by the ball of bullets from the Federal sharpshooters, but the tough fabric was not penetrated, although a ball from one of the machine guns cut a broad gash in one of the treads. General Blanco gave the tires credit for carrying blm safely out of the danger zone. Later, when It seemed that Uncle Sam must Invade Mexico, a report of the part these tires played in the above scrimmage came to the ears of Capt. Alfred Aloe, depot quartermas ter of the' U. S. army In Galveston. He immediately got in touch with the Firestone Company and, altho he did not want pneumatic ttrea be cause of the danger of puncture, he ordered Firestone solid tires with quick detachable rims. This equip ment made It possible to change a tire in a few minutes when necessary. This led to other departments tak ing up the matter, and at the present time Firestone Tires have become widely distributed In the U. S. Army service. Now comes the report that Russia has a number of their army trucks equipped with Firestones. It seems that some time ago, a Gramm truck was shipped to St. Petersburg on a chance, when the report came that the Russian War Department was in the market for motor equipment. According to the present outlook, these tires stand a mighty good chance. of being. In even tighter plac es than General Blanco'a went thra in Mexico, this spring. 1 i J ;7 AT OURL, DRUG STORE! That's the service from which IIUPMOBILE reputation springs; tbe service that has made the HUPMOBILE "The Car of the American Family." That's why HTTP ownera are our most successful salesmen. And Isn't that quality what you consider, first and last in any car? How will a lower price compensate you a year from now, for a worn, shabby down-at-the-heel ear. which you are forced to aell for a song? How will a natty exterior this Spring compensate you for a broken down exterior next Spring? Continuous service at a lower cost an da higher price A hen you want to sell at second hand that's what makea UUP owners loyal to the car. Think this over next Spring, think of the one hundred thousandth mile and not of the ten thousandth and your Investigation will aurely bring you to tbe choice of the HUPMOBILE. ROBT.
