FILTHY STREETS AND ALLEYS
The council informally discussed
the condition of the streets and al
leys at the special meeting Monday
night and decided that it was the
worst ever. Cleanliness Is the excep
tion instead of the rule. Every
where they had investigated ashes,
tin cans, and rubbish had been al
lowed to accumulate for months. The
neglect of vaults was found to consti
tute a grave menace to the public
health. Therefore, the oouncll has
decided that cleanup is the order of
the day and are going to conduct an
active campaign along that line.
