William Comstock in company
with his mother passed thru Alliance
today on his way home to Ellsworth
from Denver.
Mrs. Jerry Madden received word
today that her brother is seriously
ill at Casper, Wyo. She will leave
for that place tomorro wmorning.
Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Townley, who
were marled yesterday In Ravenna,
are spending their honeymoon in Al
liance. Marry Dubuque has completed a
frame garage to house the new Reo
that he recently purchased. The gar
age is situated at his home on Third
street.
The Hastings Glee Club which was
scheduled to apepar at the Methodist'
church Monday evening, will be at
the Phelan opera house Saturday ev
ening instead.
G. W. Wagner, who underwent an
peration at the hospital Saturday,
is convalescing in a satisfactory man
ner.
Halph Dayley, the young man who
was wounded in a gun fight at Bing
ham a few days ago, was able to sit
up yesterday for the first time. He

Mr. Keyline, Inspector of dining
cars, and James Rivett, general su
perintendent of buildings for the
Burlington, were in Alliance today.
The advance men for the Mutt &
Jeff company, a musical comedy car
rying thirty-five people, which will
appear at the Phelan opera house,
Wednesday, April 15, were putting
up paper in the city today.
Mrs. C. Jones left for Newcastle,
Wyoming, today for a visit of ten
days with her son, W. Jones. Miss
Laura Black, who has been spending
the winter with Mrs. Jones, left on
the same train for her home In Chad
ron.
E. W. Reed, a rancher living east
of Alliance, reported that plowing
has been Interrupted by the freezing
of the ground during the recent cold
spell. Wednesday it was impossilbe
to do any plowing .until late in the
afternoon; yesterday It was 10 o'-
clock before work could hi started.
Supt. and Mrs. W. M. Weldenham-
er are expected home from Chicago, i
where Mr. Weidenhamer attended
the meeting of operating officials.
They will be accompanied by their
daughter, Miss Mabel, who is attend
ing school in Atchison, Kans., and
their son Harold, who is attending
school at Lincoln. The young peo
ple will spend the Easter vacation at
home.

C. J. Hyshaam, a wealthy stock
man ranging cattle In northern Wy
oming. Jassed thru Alliance" today
with a small shipment that he is tak
ing to his range. He expects to
ship 4,000 southern cattle thru here
during the present month.
H. A. Johnson,' stock yards fore
man, went to uenver yesterday to
attend a meeting of the Shrtners.
He will return Sunday or Monday.
Work of rebuilding the Burling
ton sheep pens will be started within

will be increased to seventy cars ca
